Yes!
Is Champagne more or less sweet? Yes!
After "disgorgement," sugar is added to the Champagne with the so-called "Liqueur d'expedition," a mixture of wine and cane sugar. This last step before corking is called dosage.
Depending on the sugar content, expressed in grams per liter, Champagne is designated as follows:
brut (less than 12 grams of sugar per liter)
demi-sec (half-dry) (between 32 and 50 grams/L)
sec (dry) (between 17 and 32 grams/L)
extra-dry (12 and 17 grams/L)
doux (more than 50 grams/L)
extra brut (between 0 and 6 grams/L)
brut nature, without dosage or zero dosage: with a sugar content of less than 3 grams/L and if no sugar has been added to the Champagne.
