Champagne Barthélemy-Pinot
The Barthélemy-Pinot house owns 2.5 hectares in Moussy near Epernay in the Marne Valley. In family hands for 5 generations, the winery has been continuously expanded. Today, the family tradition is continued by the great-grandchildren Laurent and Jérôme with passion, the same savoir-faire and the greatest care throughout the year.
All grapes are hand-picked and selected. The champagnes are aged for at least three years in the cellar, manually riddled, and produced with great respect for the traditions of Champagne.
As a "Récoltant-Coopérateur" (grower-cooperative co-owner), the wines are pressed in the cooperative of Pierry. However, the blending of the wines is done by the family. They decide which wines are combined to give the champagne its personality.
Since June 2021, Champagne Barthélémy-Pinot has been certified HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale - High Environmental Value) and VDC (Viticulture Durable en Champagne - Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne). HVE means that the winemaker is committed to preserving biodiversity (insects, trees, hedges, green strips, flowers, etc.), fertilization, and irrigation. As for sustainable viticulture, it is a voluntary approach by Champagne winemakers based on a daily commitment around three main areas of action: biodiversity, carbon, and water footprint.
