Champagne Charpentier
The Charpentier winery, winemakers for eight generations, is located on the southern slope of the Marne Valley region in Champagne. As early as 1855, the family's first winemaker sold his wines to coachmen and river boatmen when they stopped at his post relay. The carriage now represents their commitment to passing on inherited values and know-how. The riding horse precisely represents their movement into the future.
72 parcels are located according to different "Crus" of the Marne Valley around Charly sur Marne, only 90 km west of Paris. Very untypical and unique for this region, it has 45% Chardonnay, supplemented by Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.
The humanistic winemaker and daring agronomist Jean-Marc Charpentier continues the conversion of his 24-hectare vineyard to organic farming. Since 2009, he has been practicing biodynamics with pragmatism and benevolence. Based on his experience, Jean-Marc Charpentier decided to change the framework of his activity, which he considered too conventional. Equipped with great technical mastery, he lacked an ingredient to fully realize his passion.
The discovery of biodynamics was one of the triggering elements. After several of his works, he simply changed his view of the world, his reading grid, which led to a new representation of reality. Today, through his champagnes, he humbly shares this state of consciousness, to the delight of the amateur who develops in a healthy, sincere and friendly environment.
