Champagne Philipponnat
Since 1522, the Philipponnat family, formerly purveyors to Louis XIV and magistrates of Ay, has owned vineyards in Ay and Mareuil, on the best slopes of the Premier and Grand Cru sites. They cultivate 20 hectares and produce 600,000 bottles annually. Pinot Noir is the main grape variety. The Champagnes are full-bodied and harmonious, complex and expressive, characterized by the power of the Pinot Noir grape. The use of the best musts, vinification in wooden barrels, and longer maturation in the cellar – all of this makes Philipponnat's style so unique!
Philipponnat carefully produces wines before they are made into Champagne: vinous, intense, and fresh. Philipponnat meticulously monitors
every step of the production process:
- Soils are cultivated with great respect for nature and the environment
- Grapes are harvested later than usual in the Champagne region
- Minimal intervention during the production and aging process
- The first "Grande Maison" with all technical information on the label
