Champagne Thierry Bourmault
Thierry Bourmault, a 5th-generation winemaker, owns 4.5 hectares of vineyards with his son William and daughter Caroline in the 1er Cru and Grand Cru areas around Cuis in the Côte des Blancs, where only Chardonnay grapes are grown, and in Verzy, where Pinot Noir grapes flourish.
Thierry Bourmault's Champagnes are made from old vineyards (1944, 1960), and he uses only the best must from the grapes, the so-called "Cuvée" (as opposed to the "Taille"). He prioritizes quality over quantity, producing only about 13,000 bottles. He has chosen to operate his Champagne production as a "récoltant-manipulant," meaning his Champagne is harvested, pressed, and produced on his own estate from his own vines.
He sells a small portion of his production to a well-known large Champagne house like Vranken Pommery. This is further proof of its premium quality. Thierry Bourmault says: "I am so lucky to have such an exciting profession. I am proud and it gives me great joy to share it with my customers!"
