Champagne Douge: a winemaker from the southern part of Champagne with Burgundian influences!

With the rigor of a scientist, the passion of an artist, and the skill of a goldsmith, Florent Douge works on the creation of remarkable champagnes. He isolates his plots, his grape varieties, and vinifies single vintages.

On his 7-hectare vineyard in Neuville-sur-Seine, in the Aube department, under the benevolent and encouraging eye of Katia, his wife, Florent is committed to respectful, attentive, and meticulous viticulture. The 12-parcel estate is harmoniously distributed across the entire village on both the right and left banks of the Seine.

He is already certified for sustainable viticulture in Champagne (VDC) and Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE).

Barrels play a central role in winemaking. Wood is a valuable ally in the creation of champagne at Florent Douge.
This living material is not just a container, but also a revealer and sublimator. But the barrel must not mark the wine, which is why Florent uses used barrels; this winemaking method leads to an airy and very fine result. In her quest to respect the integrity of her wines, Florent neither fines nor filters. Her goal is to create champagnes with character, freshness, and deliciousness, with beautiful aromatic presences.
