Champagne Roland Champion
Since the 18th century, the Champions have been winemakers from father to son. At that time, their entire harvest was sold to merchants. However, for four generations, the family has been dedicated to producing their own champagne. This family history began with André Champion in 1929, when "Champagne André Champion" was launched. He significantly expanded his vineyards in Chouilly in the Côte des Blancs, the preferred growing area for Chardonnays.
His early death catapulted his eldest son, Roland, who was 16 at the time, to the head of the family business. Roland took the reins with dignity and, following in his father's footsteps, continued to expand the vineyards. The Champagne house was then renamed "Champagne Roland Champion" in 1951.
The descendants of Roland and Jacqueline Champion: François, Vincent, and Clara, as well as their children Carole, Ambroise, Clémence, Astrid, and Félix, continue the family legacy today. François is now the house's oenologist and works with two of his daughters, Clémence and Carole.
