Champagne Domaine Lagille

Vincent says: "I experimented for several years. With Maud and Claire, who worked with us from 2004 to 2021 and is now with her husband Maxime at Champagne Maxime Blin, we constantly asked ourselves questions. In 2017, it clicked for me. That was in connection with a training course on soil. Everything became clear to me. I wanted to produce terroir Champagnes. Wines that tell the story of our roots. Both familial and cultural roots. For that, I wanted the earth to be able to express itself and the vines to penetrate deep into it. So we started to change our cultivation methods. Today, we have finally decided to pursue organic certification."

Domaine Lagille currently covers 7.20 hectares, planted with 55% Meunier, 30% Chardonnay, and 15% Pinot Noir. We are also fortunate to cultivate a geographically concentrated vineyard, as 95% of our vineyards are located in Treslon or on the outskirts of the village. This simplifies observation, reflection, and interventions. This is even quite rare in Champagne!" This particularity, by the way, inspired Vincent in his questions about the transition from vine to wine. "Our wines will inevitably tell the story of a specific terroir. We are, without a doubt and with honest pride, ambassadors of Treslon."
