Champagne Rochet-Bocart

Champagne Rochet-Bocart

Grapes run through Mathilde's veins: In 1956, her great-uncle and great-aunt Jacques Rochet and Claudette Bocart, named after her maiden name, founded the brand. In 1975, her son Michel, after completing wine school, continued the production of the house's wines, adding his personal touch.

Mathilde Devarenne, the younger cousin, is now the third generation and a young winemaker, having taken over the family business on the Montagne de Reims in Vaudemange. She manages 7 hectares of vineyards. She aims to preserve tradition while adding her personal touch and adapting to new production and marketing techniques.
In winemaking, to express the characteristics and subtleties of the terroir, she vinifies the wines separately, depending on soil type, vintage, exposure, etc. This is what is called fragmented vinification.

The aging of the wines is a very important phase for Mathilde. The wines sold benefit from 6 to 7 years of aging in the cellar. During the aging process, the Champagnes acquire subtle notes and complex aromas.

Viticulture is environmentally friendly and gradually approaching the desire for environmental certification.
The Chardonnay grape dominates in Vaudemange. This terroir is classified as Premier Cru. The soil is fine, calcareous, and mineral: it produces pure and clear wines with aromas of citrus and minerality.
Pinot Noir, mainly from the Verzy region: these rich, clay-limestone soils give this grape variety, whose aromas are based on notes of red fruits, its full power and intensity.
Mathilde Devarenne says: "After studying international trade and winemaking, I am able to continue the viticultural traditions and family values of Champagne Rochet Bocart. Many internships in French and international wine regions have also shown me that marketing and communication should not be neglected in our profession.
"Day after day, my philosophy remains the same: "To give oneself the means to achieve one's goals and dreams".
Mathilde is one of the "Fa'bulleuses de Champagne"!

How to Find Your Perfect Champagne

Four simple steps to the ideal champagne for every occasion
1

Determine occasion

Consider the occasion for which the champagne will be served. Celebrations, an aperitif, or with a meal?
2

Choose flavor profile

Do you prefer fruity-fresh, elegant, or full-bodied aromas? The dosage determines the sweetness of the Champagne.
3

Recognizing Quality

Pay attention to origin, vintage, and maturation period. Prestige cuvées offer exceptional quality for special moments.
4

Perfect Serving Temperature

Serve champagne at 8-10°C. The correct temperature optimally unfolds the full range of aromas.
