Champagne Léguillette-Romelot

Champagne Léguillette-Romelot

The history of the house began in Charly-sur-Marne at the start of the 18th century with the planting of the first vines. Their great-great-grandparents had been from this village for many generations and were farmers and ploughmen.
In 1968, the marriage of Mr. Léguillette and Mrs. Romelot led to the union of the two families and their vineyards. The production of champagne under the name Léguillette-Romelot was born!

Today, the Champagne House cultivates 8 hectares of vineyards in the communes of Charly-sur-Marne, Crouttes-sur-Marne, Villiers-Saint-Denis, and Gland, just 80 km from Paris. Located in the western Marne Valley, the vineyard is mainly planted with Pinot Meunier. This grape variety is particularly well-suited to the clay-limestone slopes.

In 2000, Laurent, a descendant of the first winegrowers, took over the management of the Léguillette-Romelot Champagne house with his wife Christine. In 2007, the wine cellar and storage facility were built. On this occasion, Christine and Laurent planted 3 forgotten Champagne grape varieties in the "Clos du Mont Dorin", right next to the cellar: Pinot Blanc, Arbanne and Petit Meslier. Blended with Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the usual grape varieties, their Champagnes are very atypical and characteristic of the house. For several years, the house has been focusing on environmentally friendly viticulture and no longer uses herbicides. All plots are grassed over and mechanically cultivated under the rows. The 80 ares "Clos du Mont Dorin", planted with old vines, is mainly worked with horses.

How to Find Your Perfect Champagne

Four simple steps to the ideal champagne for every occasion
1

Determine occasion

Consider the occasion for which the champagne will be served. Celebrations, an aperitif, or with a meal?
2

Choose flavor profile

Do you prefer fruity-fresh, elegant, or full-bodied aromas? The dosage determines the sweetness of the Champagne.
3

Recognizing Quality

Pay attention to origin, vintage, and maturation period. Prestige cuvées offer exceptional quality for special moments.
4

Perfect Serving Temperature

Serve champagne at 8-10°C. The correct temperature optimally unfolds the full range of aromas.
