Maud Plener of Champagne Plener&fils manages 5.5 hectares of vineyards in Bouzy, Grand Cru, 70% planted with Pinot Noir and 30% with Chardonnay. She is the seventh generation of winemakers in the Plener family.

2- If I weren't a winemaker, what would I be? Sommelier or midwife.
3- The place I love outside Champagne. Lisbon will always remain dear to my heart, as I spent an Erasmus year there when I was 20.
4- The best compliment my Champagne(s) could receive . That they are like an aromatic journey.
5- The drink I prefer besides Champagne . Bouzy Rouge! Well, that's a bit chauvinistic. So let's say a Mojito!
6- What is my madeleine? the dish that comforts me. My grandmother's doughnuts. Or a good cheese board, which I would miss most if I had to move abroad.
7- The word / phrase I like the most. All those that make me seem old-fashioned to my children, like "fax" or "cassette".
8 - My favorite musicians/singers. I have many and they change often. At the moment, it's Aimé Simone and Lily Wood and The Pricks.
9- The object I use/love the most. A pair of earrings; I wear them all the time and enjoy choosing my pair for the day. But I must admit, I'd be lost without my phone.
10- The changes in Champagne making/the world that I appreciate the most. The emphasis on the uniqueness of the terroirs and winemakers, whereas the appellation could have relied on its reputation to standardize. And also the increasing consideration of sustainable development challenges.

6- Quel est ma madeleine? le plat qui me fait du bien. Les beignets de ma grand-mère. Ou un bon plateau de fromage, c’est ce qui me manquerait le plus si je devais m’exaptrier.

9- L'objet que j‘ utilise/aime le plus. Une paire de boucles d’oreilles, j’en porte tout le temps et je prends plaisir à choisir ma paire du jour. Mais je dois avouer que je serais perdue sans mon téléphone.
10- Les changements dans l'exploitation/le monde du champagne que j’apprécie le plus. La mise en avant de la singularité des terroirs et des vignerons, alors que l’appellation aurait pu s’appuyer sur sa notoriété pour s’uniformiser. Et puis aussi la prise en compte toujours plus importante des enjeux de développement durable.
