Description

Blend: 52% Pinot Meunier, 37% Pinot Noir, and 15% Chardonnay from the 2022 harvest with 32% reserve wines. Disgorgement: Sept 24. 1.1 Gr/L. Added sugar.

Aromas: This champagne has an old gold color. On the nose, citrus notes (candied lemon) and white fruits (pear, apple) blend with sweet aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, and pine cones. The champagne's minerality perfectly combines with these aromas. On the palate, the freshness of the champagne dominates. The various aromas of candied citrus fruits and spicy notes intertwine in a perfectly exciting and delicate harmony.

Occasion: Perfect for an aperitif and as an accompaniment to fine dishes.

Award: 93/100 G&M

"Un brut de référence qui est en fait, dans ce tirage, un extra-brut dosé à 4 g/l seulement. Plus de 40% de vins de réserve en perpétuelle donnent à ce vin une formidable complexité. Le nez s’ouvre sur un fruité blanc de belle facture avec des arômes de pomme et de poire, mais également des notes d’amandes et de tabac blond. En bouche, le vin se montre parfaitement équilibré, juteux et vibrant. On adore."

Eng: "A benchmark brut that is in fact, in this release, an extra-brut dosed at only 4 g/l. More than 40% perpetual reserve wines give this wine formidable complexity. The nose opens with a beautifully crafted white fruitiness with aromas of apple and pear, but also notes of almond and light tobacco. On the palate, the wine is perfectly balanced, juicy and vibrant. We love it."

And this is what Natalie Lumpp, TOP Sommelier, writes about the Grande Réserve - Brut from Champagne Dehours:

"I am often asked what makes a great wine or champagne. I confess: I certainly had different priorities in the past, today it's lightness! When, in a good champagne or wine, the alcohol doesn't dominate the taste at all. Above all, "minerality" is a magic word here! Minerality actually processes alcohol like a catalyst. Just try the excellent Grande Réserve brut from Jerome Dehours: fine bubbles constantly rise in the luminous golden champagne. You can already detect the salty minerality in the scent (imagine feeling the salty breezes on your lips at the sea), it seems incredibly fresh and very lean. While it is initially characterized by ethereal oils in the scent – almost as if peeling an orange – it then becomes increasingly fruity and reminiscent of apricots. Although it presents itself rather lightly on the palate, it tastes full-bodied and remains spicy in the finish.

A truly exceptional champagne – not just pleasantly fruity – which also completely reflects the winemaker's philosophy. His focus is on the "terroir" – and selected reserve wines, to guarantee quality even in smaller vintages."

"Jerome Dehours' back labels are very unusual; there he indicates how many 0.375 l, 0.75 l, and 1.5 l bottles were bottled, or when it was "disgorged" – freed from the lees!"

We offer a carefully curated selection of champagnes from the most renowned houses in the Champagne region. Our portfolio includes classic Brut champagnes, rosé varieties, and special vintages. Each bottle is selected according to strict quality criteria to guarantee you the best taste experience.

Champagne should be stored in a cool, dark place, ideally at a constant temperature between 7-10°C. The bottles should be stored horizontally to keep the cork moist. Avoid direct sunlight and strong temperature fluctuations. Well-stored champagnes can age and gain complexity over many years.

Champagne should be served in flutes or tulip glasses to best preserve its aroma. Chill the bottle for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator or 20 minutes in an ice bucket to 6-8°C. Open the bottle carefully by removing the wire and slowly twisting out the cork. Serve immediately to enjoy its freshness and effervescence.
