Champagne for Picnics and Summer Parties
Which champagne goes with a picnic, summer party or barbecue?
Meat pie, ham (Parma, San Daniele, Serrano), sandwiches and grilled meat (chicken, lamb, beef, pork): Champagne with a high proportion of Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier – full-bodied, well-rounded, perfect for grilling. Keep marinades not too spicy.
Vegetable quiche, puff pastry and fish dishes: Champagne with a high Chardonnay content – fresh, light, elegant.
Dessert: Rosé Champagne with summer berries (strawberry, raspberry) or peach and apricot – as fruit or in a not-too-sweet cake.
For special moments: a magnum (1.5L, for 10+ people) or a Jeroboam (3L, for 15+ people) – because big celebrations deserve big bottles!
